‘Good’ Ofsted inspection July 2014
Our Nursery was established by the governors of Platt Primary School over 20 years ago and is run as an independent, non-profit making organisation. It is registered with Ofsted and KCC.
It is situated in the grounds of the school, sharing some of the facilities e.g. for play, P.E. and music, and maintaining very close links with the Reception class into which most children transfer.
‘Parents are very positive about the nursery staff and
the quality of care and teaching they provide.’ Ofsted 2014
- To provide a safe, caring, fun and effective environment to promote and extend the skills, attitudes, and understanding of each individual child as a sound basis for later education.
- To provide activities that stimulate and build upon children’s curiosity; to enable them to learn through planned worthwhile play activities, explore their environment, be imaginative and creative and give them time to plan, and reflect upon their experiences
- To ensure that a wide range of materials and equipment are used in planned and progressive ways that will enable the children to make maximum progress towards the early learning goals.
- We believe that learning in the early years is the foundation on which children build the rest of their lives.
The Nursery had a very successful Ofsted inspection in July 2014 (see the Ofsted website www.ofsted.gov.uk/reports/ using URN EY468713).
‘Children are motivated and show enthusiasm as they play and learn.
Children feel safe, secure and valued due to the effective key-person sytem in place.
Parents describe the staff as “easy to approach”, and saying how “great support” is offered.’
Parents are warmly encouraged to come and view the nursery whilst “in action”. To arrange a visit or for further information or a prospectus, please contact the Nursery Supervisor, Jan Carroll, on 01732 886600
